About Us

Make-A-Wish® Greater Los Angeles is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of children between the ages of 2½ and 18 who confront critical medical conditions.

Our Story

Make-A-Wish is the legacy of Chris Greicius, a 7-year-old boy from Phoenix. Find out how his wish to be a police officer set in motion a phenomenon that would create an unprecedented kind of charity.

Our Chapter

On April 1, 1983 the Los Angeles chapter received its charter and granted its first wish that month to 11-year-old Gary from Ventura.The simple "I Wish to Have…a VCR" was accompanied by a year of free video rentals. More than 34 years later, the chapter has granted over 9,600 wishes.
