Our Chapter

On April 1, 1983 the Los Angeles chapter received its charter and granted its first wish that month to 11-year-old Gary from Ventura. The simple “I Wish to Have…a VCR” was accompanied by a year of free video rentals.

Thirty years later on the same day, 11-year-old i’Joni Johnson, who was diagnosed with an optic glioma, was granted the chapter’s 8,056th wish. The exciting "I Wish to Go to WrestleMania" wish was revealed to him with a surprise knock on the door by a team of volunteers. Later that week, he and his family left Pacoima and boarded a plane to New Jersey for the spectacular showdown of WWE Superstars on April 7th at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
