LOS ANGELES, CA (June 7, 2018) – Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles has appointed Mike Kallhoff as President and CEO. With over two decades of nonprofit experience, Kallhoff most recently served as President and CEO of United Way of the Wine Country.
“Mike has the unique combination of innovative leadership and passion for the Make-A-Wish mission that is critical to driving our long-term goal of reaching every eligible child in LA,” said Bo Pearl, Board Chair, Make-A-Wish Greater LA. “With over 550 children currently waiting for wishes, Mike’s vision will be instrumental in addressing this urgent need.”
While at United Way of the Wine Country, Kallhoff grew the nonprofit’s budget from $3-10 million annually. He also served as Vice President of Resource Development at Valley of the Sun United Way in Phoenix where he managed a $35 million major gift campaign. In addition, Kallhoff is a “wish dad”— his youngest daughter was granted a wish to go to Disneyworld, which was a life-changing experience for his family.
“I am honored to join Make-A-Wish Greater LA and give back to the organization that helped my daughter overcome her darkest days,” said Kallhoff. “A wish can be a critical part of a child’s recovery and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this great mission.”
Make-A-Wish Greater LA will mark their 35th Anniversary milestone year at their annual Wish Gala on October 24th at The Beverly Hilton. For more information, visit www.la.wish.org/gala
