- Alessandra

Alessandra's plans for a Sweet 16 party had to be put aside as she started treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. When she was referred to
Make-A-Wish®, her wish was to have finally have that party and celebrate with her friends and family who had supported her.

Alessandra was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma on her 16th birthday. Plans for her Sweet 16 party were put aside as she began nearly two years of treatments.

On June 25, 2011, the freshly graduated Alessandra celebrated her "coming-of-age" at Noor in Pasadena thanks to Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles and many area business than donated in-kind or deeply-discounted their rates. The Greater Los Angeles chapter also received a grant through a national partnership with "Jewelers for Children." That relationship introduced Alessandra to Meshell Sohl of Mimi et Cie, who let Alessandra pick our pieces from her collection to wear for the night.

Other companies and individuals who helped grant Alessandra's wish include: Cupcake and Cookie LA, Dashing Diva, Erika Deras, Jacob Maarse Florist, Jim Steinfeldt Photography, Merengue Café and Bakery, Millenium Limo, Noor, Sherri Hill, Social Savvy Invitations, Westin Pasadena and You Should Be Dancing.
