October 16, 2015

(Los Angeles, CA) October 16, 2015 – SUBWAY® restaurants located in the Greater Los Angeles area joined forces with Make-A-Wish® chapters across Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Tri, Kern and Inyo Counties to give back to the local community. The campaign ran from May 15 through September 30, more than 1,240 local SUBWAY® restaurants participated in the “You Share. We Share”campaign to help support Make-A-Wish.

The “You Share. We Share” campaign encouraged the community to get out and share their weekends with SUBWAY® restaurants, and SUBWAY® shared right back by donating a percentage of weekend sales, up to $100,000, directly to Make-A-Wish across Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Tri, Kern and Inyo Counties. As locally owned and operated franchises, SUBWAY® is excited to be able to further it’s commitment to the local community.

On October, 26th 2015 at 3:00pm (PST) the final donation amount of $100,000 will be presented to Make- A- Wish® of the Greater Los Angeles area at the following Subway® restaurant location: 9842 National Blvd., Los Angeles, C A 90034. Please join us as we close out this community initiative!

“This campaign was a huge success by any measure. In addition to demonstrating SUBWAY®’s commitment to the community, it built awareness for Make-A-Wish and inspired people to get directly involved – a triple win. I would like to express our deepest gratitude to SUBWAY® on behalf of all the Los Angeles area chapters participating in this campaign, and the many wish children whose lives have been positively impacted by this generous donation,” said Ramin Baschshi, COO and Interim President & CEO, Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles.

During the “You Share. We Share” campaign, SUBWAY® restaurants and Make-A-Wish facilitated “wish parties” for children with life-threatening medical conditions throughout Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Tri, Kern and Inyo counties. “Wish parties” provide an experiential moment in which the children’s “wish”is revealed.

In addition, SUBWAY® restaurants launched its “You Share. We Share” ambassador program where team members visited local communities in the Greater Los Angeles area recognizing and rewarding random acts of “sharing” – people practicing kind, thoughtful, feel-good deeds. Ambassador rewards included but were not limited to: $5SUBWAY® cards, “You Share. We Share” bags and other SUBWAY® memorabilia.

“The ‘You Share. We Share’ campaign truly highlights SUBWAY® restaurants’ core values in giving back to our local communities. We are thrilled to be partnering with Make-A-Wish to help achieve our goal to raise $100,000 and spread the message of sharing and giving back. The campaign is simple, just visit your local SUBWAY®restaurant on the weekend and you will make a difference for a Make-A-Wish child in the Greater Los Angeles area,” said Bob Grewal, Los Angeles SUBWAY® multi-unit owner.
