Square Enix And Make-A-Wish Help Kids' Wishes Become Reality

Date

November 08, 2016

LOS ANGELES (November 8, 2016) – Los Angeles-based SQUARE ENIX, Inc., publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, announced a sponsorship with Make-A-Wish® America that will bring the joy of a wish come true for kids with life-threatening medical conditions across the country.

“It’s incredibly important for us to give back to those in need,” said Mike Sherlock, Chief Operating Officer of Square Enix, Inc. “We’re so proud to be working alongside the amazing Make-A-Wish team to help wish kids’ wishes become reality.”

Inspired by its upcoming game FINAL FANTASY® XV, which is set in a fantastical world of intrigue and wonder but grounded in reality, Square Enix plans to flip the script with this partnership, transforming wish kids’ fantasies into reality. Square Enix launched the initiative alongside Make-A-Wish in August of 2016. The two companies have been sharing inspiring stories of the kids they have the great joy to impact.

Wishes like Tony’s wish for a PS4 and new video games to play with his best friend. Battling a life-threatening medical condition can often be isolating for wish kids. Ninety-nine percent of parents reported that the wish experience gave their children increased feelings of happiness and 96 percent said that the wish experience strengthened their families. Tony’s wish centered around bringing he and his best friend together while doing something they love. A wish experience is proven to enhance the state of mind and gives the child a feeling a return of self-confidence that comes with feeling “normal” again.
