LOS ANGELES, CA (May 1, 2018) – A nonprofit dedicated to creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles welcomes Jennifer Longnion to its Board of Directors. With over two decades of experience in organizational change, the Chief People Officer of Dollar Shave Club joins the nonprofit during its 35th anniversary year.
“Jennifer is exactly the type of visionary leader we’re looking for at Make-A-Wish,” said Bo Pearl, Board Chair, Make-A-Wish Greater LA. “As we approach granting our 10,000th wish in LA County, Jennifer’s drive and passion for people will be instrumental in allowing us to reach our long term goal of granting the wish of every eligible child in LA.”
Before leading Dollar Shave Club’s best-in-class employee experience efforts for three years, Longnion spent nine years at The Coca-Cola Company. Her team prepared the organization for the re-franchising of Coke’s bottling operations, the acceleration of several mergers & acquisitions, and implementation of major technology systems. Prior to Coke, she spent the first decade of her career in similar roles at The University of Minnesota, Best Buy, and Motorola, Inc. Jennifer holds a degree in Psychology from Texas Lutheran University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Minnesota.
“I am honored to join the Make-a-Wish Board and have the opportunity to bring a smile and joy to a child, who often faces insurmountable odds and health challenges,” said Longnion. “Making a wish come true is the first step to showing a child that anything is possible.”
Make-A-Wish Greater LA will mark their 35th Anniversary milestone year at a community celebration at their annual Wish Gala on October 24, 2018 at The Beverly Hilton.
