LOS ANGELES, CA (April 4, 2019) – Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles will hold their annual Walk for Wishes event on Saturday, April 6th, 2019 at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The organization’s largest community event of the year, the Walk is a celebration of Make-A-Wish’s 10,000th wish granted in LA County. This year, Make-A-Wish Greater LA invites supporters, wish families and volunteers to “Step up for Wish Kids” and take 10,000 steps to honor their 10,000th wish.
“It is because of generous partners like Frigo Cheese Heads and Wheels for Wishes, that we have been able to reach 10,000 children in LA with life-changing wishes,” said Mike Kallhoff, President and CEO, Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles. “We are so grateful to this community for making our work possible. With more than 550 children waiting for their wishes in LA, the Walk for Wishes will help us raise critically needed funds to grant life-changing experiences.
”This year’s Walk for Wishes will include family-friendly ways to log 10,000 steps in addition to the walk route around Exposition Park, including a silent disco, sports drills and picnic games. LA’s premier sports teams including the Los Angeles Rams, LAFC: Los Angeles Football Club, The LA Galaxy and the Los Angeles Kings will be in attendance as well as the LAX Pets Unstressing Passengers (PUPS) rdog therapy teams. In addition to Frigo Cheese Heads and Wheels for Wishes, sponsors of the event include: The Goldwin Foundation, BrightView, Wells Fargo, Amalfi Estates, LA Rams, LAFC, The Pearl Family and O’Melveny.
